Taqrir Washington (TW) is a project of the World Security Institute, a non-profit organization committed to independent research and journalism on global affairs. Taqrir Washington is a free weekly online journal of politics and public affairs in Arabic, dedicated to bringing news and American opinions to Arabic-speaking countries and communities in an accurate, comprehensive and analytical manner. TW reports on current cultural and political debates and analyzes the factors that influence U.S. decision-making. By illuminating the complexities of American society, TW seeks to raise the level of understanding within the Arab world and prepare Arabs for more informed dialogue with the United States.
TW is an independent and non-governmental news service that does not seek to promote American policies or values, nor does it intend to interfere with other media sources. The project carefully guards its objectivity by refusing any form of government funding.

Our Goals

The main goal of Taqrir Washington is to become the leading source of Arabic language news analysis about U.S. foreign and domestic politics, Arab American relations, and social/cultural life in the United States.
